[com clicks on to see Washu with a purple cloth wrapped around her nose and mouth. Her hair cascading around her. It's obvious she using the cloth that normally holds her hair back as a make shift face mask.]

[slightly muffled]

At first I thought I might be getting sick. I've dodged explosions, mouth parasites and may have come down with a cold... or bronchitis.
But then the smell started.

Rotten eggs means sulfur. Which means either volcanic activity or a pipe of some sort broke. We need to fix this.. Does anyone know how to get the air circulating? Does anyone know where to find the origin of this ?

I wish I had my lab...

This can't be good for anyone if this persists.

I like breathing....

[slight coughing can be heard as she reaches over and clicks off the com]

There are a few fools willing to sneak off and find the source.

They better have gas masks and oxygen tanks and be smart enough not to have an open flame anywhere near there.

... but what are they going to do once they find it? Finding the source is one thing, actually stopping it is another.

If I could access my materia, it would be nothing to cover the gas up with an earthquake. Or start a wind storm. Or freeze the ground. Something.

I do not know if they will find it or if they can do anything about it but make it worse.

Unless they know what they are doing, they'll make it worse.

If I could access my lab, I could pinpoint it, and figure out a way to seal the leak. Then it would just be inventing a machine to get rid of the toxin's in then air.

... I really wish we had these chips out.

Unfortunately, I doubt that anyone would remove mine even if I knew where it was. Strife has made it clear that the last time I was here, I was a murdering sociopath.

But if you know about it, then you can stop it from happening and not be what they expect you to be.

Which of course, would alter history for them and possibly create an alternate time line.

If I remember it, Little Washu. From what I've gathered, this place is a dream when you return home.

But where to find one big enough to circulate the air in the entire city? To build something like that may be dangerous if what's in the air is flammable.

Though, there is friction to worry about...

Especially if the friction could cause a spark. But, if we seal off the leak first, it would make clearing the gas easier. Hm... A giant cloth fan. It would need some sturdy ribbing and quite a bit of cloth.

The fan for the fanning bit, the rest can be made up of wood and metal scraps from around here... maybe stones if we can get them for a stand!

Like a science project!

Something that can purify the oxygen around us of contaminants. Oxygen tank's only last for so long before running out.

A modified gas mask perhaps?

They have real ones at this army surplus store. I think if we can use that as a model, and gather up some common items, we can start producing them for more people.

It sound's like a start. Hopefully we can produce enough to pass them out to those that really need it. Worse cases first, and then go down the line from there.

You're correct, of course - the scent does indicate sulfur. Doesn't seem to me like it originated from a volcano, though - the compostion isn't quite right - so I suspect the latter. In which case, finding the actual pipe is the most important step, but I'm not entirely sure how anyone plans to accomplish that.

Not a clue either. However, some of us are attempting to solve the breathing issue at the moment and possible damage control.

But stopping the leak, or finding it should be some sort of priority as well.
