[Com clicks on and there's the sound of something crashing to the floor and some soft swearing]

That didn't work.

[sounds of metal clinking together can be heard and then something hitting a wall]

I'll fix that later. .....

Oh? What's this? When did this thing turn on?
It looks like things are quieting down. It's time to start working on setting up the classes again. If people are still interested.
If anyone needs me, I'm in my apartment.

[com clicks off.]

They did what they thought was right.I dont blame them for that.

I wasn't planning on using the weapons past the testing stage.

-Lucca's lab, of course, is in its typical state of controlled chaos. Only she really knew what anything was or where anything could be found. She sort of preferred it that way. She has, however, laid out a specific item on the table.

The largest visible font read out, in capitol letters, "FATE"-

Washu headed out of her own chaotic apartment/lab, destination: Lucca's lab.

On the way she let her thoughts wander, partially to the hallucinations from not to long ago and partially what her friend might be showing her. Needless to say she was curious.

Knock."Hello?"

Washu gave the place a quick look from the entrance way, amused that it looked similar to her own lab, controlled chaos.

Then she spotted the item on the table. 'Fate' was written in large text on the side. Personally she didn't believe in fate or destiny, but she was curious why it was written on this particular object.

"Washu... what I'm about to show you pushes the limits of all kinds of ethics. But these are things I have to build. The existence of my world depends on them...," she said in a heavy tone. She turned the notes towards Washu.

"First, we have the Chronopolis, a city that can literally exist in all points on a timeline at once. Using technology from the Black Omen, I can do this. It will be needed to house a very specific and important system... one that if most people knew about, would think of as an atrocious crime against mankind..."

She nodded as she looked over the notes that were pushed towards her. She remained silent as she listened.

"Something like this should be impossible in modern physics. The power source alone would have to be self sustaining and endless, perhaps similar to a black hole."

She paused for a moment. "...What makes this a crime against humanity exactly?"

"Because the computer system Chronopolis will house, FATE, will be able to change the destiny of each and every person to ever exist at any point in their life span so that it can serve the greater purpose of maintaining a living world," she said in a whispered reverie.

"FATE is exactly what its name suggests. It is a living Goddess of Fate."

Washu frowns a little.

"Normally I would say that is an interesting theory and then run off to my own lab to run tests to see if I could do it.However, if I can rearrange genetic material on a whim, I don't see why this isn't possible. But, the possibilities of it going wrong are astronomical. If it were to go out of control I would imagine it would act like a Black Hole."

"I've been wracking my brain trying to think of a fail safe FATE couldn't just work her own way around. But I have to build this. I want to... I want to protect the world my sister is going to grow up in. I can't let another possibility of catastrophe arise," she spoke solemnly. This was obviously something she had given a lot of thought to.

"I would essentially be tricking the entirety of the human race into thinking they had free will."

"Oh~? Now that sounds like an impossible task...and a challenge." She smiled slightly as she fell into thought. "I admit, your reasoning for doing so is in the long run better than any reason I've had for inventing a weapon."

"Now that is a tough question. I suppose that the answer would be defined by your sense of ethics and the reason's you have for creating such a device and whether or not you think it is right.

"I know why I'm doing it. But will the benefit of the system be worth the cost? Messing with continuity isn't the domain of mankind, I know that much," she reasoned with herself, letting out a heavy sigh.

"But I've seen what happens. I've seen a world completely destroyed."

She remained silent for a bit. "Only you can make that call."

She chuckled softly. "I built weapons capable of destroying planets for my own amusement. Saving and taking lives only further my knowledge." She shrugged slightly. "I'm probably not the best to ask on moral issues....."

She paused and arched an eyebrow for a moment. " Are you gaining knowledge from this experiment? Science is the discovery and advancement of our understanding of the universe. If you are accomplishing that, then yes It's worth it. The added plus is possibility of saving lives and preventing a future that shouldn't happen. I would consider that a byproduct of the invention."

She shrugged slightly. "That is my scientific opinion with disregard for ethics."

Gaining knowledge? She supposed that was the part she still needed to figure out. Outside of a better future, what would mankind really gain from such a thing? Well... she had plenty of time to think about it in Discedo, at least.

She folded up the notes and began the process of putting them away. She didn't speak a word.
