I suppose I owe you a thank you, Kureha. Though for the record, you shouldn't chase the ones you rescue around with knives even if there are pass transgressions.  Especially when the one you are chasing is me.


Students, I'm way past due on giving you an assignment.
Now to test your range of knowledge, please fill out this little Quiz and deliver it to my office by the end of the week. Please use any reference materials necessary and bring them along when you drop off your answers so I may see what you're working with.

I got... locked in my lab. As for the chasing, I think that's becoming common place.

And why we're on the subject, care to help me fix poor little B? He had an accident.

Anytime you are able to fix her that would be wonderful. It's mostly hardware that was broke.While we're fixing, I may as well upgrade their programing. This would be the perfect opportunity for it.

"Of course, what else would I be?"

[Washu smiled faintly as she clicked off the com and pocketed it before slipping on her coat and gently picking up the broken B. The poor thing was smashed. It's limbs were barely hanging on by wires and circuitry as it lay limply in her hands. A watched her from the Desk warily, after all, It was Washu that destroyed the other.

Quietly Washu picked up A and settled it on to her shoulder before heading out of the Hospital where she was now living and over to Lucca's Lab.

-Lucca was still cleaning, knowing that she'd need to make room for at least three people to sleep besides herself. Which of course meant she would be hanging up hammocks too. No room for beds, after all.-

[Quietly she approached Lucca's lab and knocked on the door as she watched her friend tidy up.]

"You've got quite the mess here."

Yeah, and like, I could have SWORN it wasn't this bad when I left it. Maybe a monster broke in...

That got an amused chuckle from the child looking mad scientist.

"Maybe, though I'd think the earthquakes are the most likely culprit."

She made her way through the mess and gently cleared off a space on a work bench before setting down her broken mechanical assistant.

"As you can see... B had a little accident."

There was a muffled snort from A followed by muttering. Oh she was blaming Washu for this one.

-Lucca gently took B from Washu's hands. She got an almost maternal look of worry looking at the damage.-

You poor thing... Don't you worry about it, Washu. I'll have her fixed up and good as new in no time.

Washu nodded, not even bothering to hide a smile as she summoned her holo computer and started to type rapidly.

"Wonderful. While you're repairing poor B, I'm going to upgrade A and then hopefully B when she's finished."

A looked at the computer and then her creator warily. She wasn't sure if she liked the sound of the word "update".

-Lucca immediately went to work, gently laying B on her bench and gathering up all of the tools she'd needas well as plugging in her soldering iron. Hopefully this would remain as uncomplicated a job as it appeared.-

Oh little one you sure had a number done on you. But don't you fret. Lucca's going to make it all better.

-She seemed to talk to robots as one would to children...-

A crept forward to watch Lucca work on B. The little puppet looked hopeful as little by little, Lucca repaired the other.

Washu was off in her own little world, her fingers flying across her keyboard as lines upon lines of code flew across the screen.

Several minutes later she stopped and with out saying a word picked up A.

The little robot squealed and stated to struggle as Washu set it down on a floating pad that appeared next to the computer. Lights surrounded the A as Washu's fingers flew across the keyboard once more.

-Lucca noted the behavior... Her reactions didn't exactly paint Washu in a good like, but on the other hand glances at the coding revealed nothing terribly malicious.-

You know a lullaby usually helps.

Washu looked up at Lucca's suggestion. That got a raised eyebrow.

"A lullaby?"

A was pounding away at the little mini force field that kept her locked on the pad, shouting. Washu hit a button and the noise was silenced. All she did was sound proof the shield.

"How is that supposed to help?"

Washu considered it for a moment before shrugging. She started to hum for a few moments before starting to sing.

She fell back into humming the same tune a little more. There was obviously more to the song, she just wasn't singing it.

A seemed to pause and listen. Eventually she sat down on the platform and listened to the song.

-Lucca gave a soft smile, watching Washu sing to A. She knew it would work. It always did for her, after all. It was odd how it functioned, but she supposed it made sense if one didn't try to think of it in terms of "robot" and "human" but rather as "creation" and "creator"...-

B should be fine once I get some juice in her.

Washu nodded as she continued to hum. Her fingers flew across the key board for a few more moments before hitting the last button. The force field around A went from a light yellow to a dark blue as A glanced wildly around.

Moments later the shield dropped completely. A stood there for a few moments before tilting her head to the side a bit and blinking.

Washu watched her intently for a few moments.

"A, List updates."

A stood up and waved its arms momentarily before speaking

Language translator: Updated.
AI subroutines: Expanded.
Emotion subroutines: Installed.
Self-preservation subroutine: Updated.
Unit known as A: Upgraded.

Washu looked pleased as she leaned over and poked A gently. The little chibi giggled and looked up at her wide eyed.

"How do you feel?"

A tilted her head to the side a little, as if she were thinking about the question.

"I feel..good."

-Lucca watched the entire process in wonder. She'd almost forgotten about B entirely as she witnessed A pretty much mentally evolved before her eyes. It wasn't necessarily a new thing to her. She'd seen it before. Hell, she'd DONE it before. But it never grew any less fascinating to her...-

Washu was pleased at A's answer to her question. She had been trying to perfect the current Artificial Intelligence programs that currently existed in her would. It was more for her own personal use then anything else. After all, there were several different forms in her own world alone. She was striving to refine an evolving form of AI.

Right now, A in child mode. Eventually she would "grow-up".

Now, for the second part.

"How is B coming along?"

A watched everything curiously. At the mention of B she seemed to brighten up, and then become worried for the other puppet.
